Flavour, Phyno and highlife-music iconTheresa Onuorah assist Larry Gaaga on his latest traditional track titled Egedege. The song was complimented with a befitting music video, directed by Unlimited LA released on 22nd October 2021.
Egedege is a renowned, traditional dance common in the Eastern region of Nigeria. The Egedege dance performance is adorned with royal outfits and the performance includes a combination of songs, dance, instrumentation — introduced by elaborate fluting led by the queen. Larry Gaaga teams up with Queen Theresa Onuorah on this release, who actually popularised the Egedege dance in Nigeria. Indigenous Igbo singer; Flavour, as well as indigenous rapper; Phyno add colour and spice to the overall delivery of this power single. Egedege literally stands for ‘richness and bravery’ in the local slang and in all, this collab portrays a forceful representation of the diverse and rich Igbo culture in Nigeria.
The new song was produced by heavyweight music producer Masterkraft, the highlife joint Egedege will serve as Larry Gaaga‘s first official single for 2021. It is sequel to his star-studded soundtrack album for the Netflix movie, Nneka (The Pretty Serpent).
The song features additional vocals from Nollywood veteran, Pete Edochie.
