Popular Nigerian singer, Joseph Akinfenwa-Docus, popularly known as Joeboy, has warned Nigerians against drinking and/or pouring harmful content on their bodies in the viral “Alcohol challenge” on TikTok.

The 24-year-old singer’s new single ‘ Alcohol ‘ was released on the 24th of September and since then has been trending on Tiktok and other social media networks since its release.

This led to a viral challenge where fans were observed drining and/or pouring harmful content like bleach on their bodies with some even going to the extent of using herbicides.

Joeboy seemed displeased with the videos, urged his fans to desist from the challenge. He thanked fans for their unwavering support for his songs but condemned the practice.

On his Twitter page, he wrote:

“I appreciate the love alcohol is getting but stop pouring stuff on your bodies. You’re welcome to keep learning the lyrics by the way.”

Currently, TikTok has removed Joeboy’s song ‘Alcohol‘ from its platform in an attempt to discontinue the challenge among its users. This is not the first time a silly challenge has been uploaded on the platform. Check out the viral milk crate challenge that happened not too long ago below.
